Structure and Manage Data Effectively: Model relational and NoSQL databases, design and manage data structures, use query languages effectively, and integrate databases into applications through modern interfaces.

- Structured Query Language (SQL) and its foundations
- NoSQL and BigData
- Connecting databases to modern (web-based) applications via JDBC and JSON
Competencies
Students are able to
- designate the principles of data models, database languages and database management systems,
- consider whether to apply a NoSQL or relational approach to a given problem of data modeling,
- transfer predetermined scenarios into a database design using data modeling,
- apply the different paradigms of the request languages, and
- develop database applications from high-level languages.
