1/2. Semester
5 ECTS | 4 SWS
Continuous Assessment (CA)
Develop Digital Innovations from the User`s Perspective: Identify real user needs, apply design thinking methods, and iteratively develop digital solutions—from user research and ideation to prototyping, user testing, and persuasive product pitches.
Contents
- Independent and responsible work on a real-world, complex challenge in iterative cycles (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test) using Design Thinking methods.
- Assignments with milestones guide the teams through the innovation project.
- Biweekly knowledge sessions provide methodological skills, including user research, various prototyping methods, creativity techniques, user testing, pitching, and Lean Canvas.
- Presentation of the project outcome in the form of a pitch at the end of the semester.
Competencies
Students are able to
- identify user needs and consider the perspectives of different stakeholders through user research.
- recognize the challenges of complex real-world problems and transform them into human-centered digital solutions with a focus on desirability and customer value.
- iteratively develop demonstrators through prototype-build-test cycles while assessing technical feasibility.
