Software Architecture (SWA)
1/2. Semester
5 ECTS | 4 SWS
Continuous Assessment (CA)
Design the Architecture of Complex Software Systems: Explore modern software architectures, analyze their impact on quality attributes, and learn how to systematically model and evaluate architectural concepts.
Contents
- Role of software architecture in the development process
- Non-technical aspects and the role of the software architect
- Architecture views
- Architecture styles
- Architecture evaluation
- Different development approaches, e.g., Quasar, Model-driven architecture (MDA), Architecture-centric Engineering Solutions (ACES)
Competencies
Students are able to
- select and apply an appropriate software architecture style, or a combination of architecture styles, depending on the application domain of a software system.
- illustrate the behavior of individual components as well as the overall future system by choosing suitable architectural views.
- evaluate alternative software architecture candidates using architectural analysis methods and assess their ability to satisfy non-functional requirements.
